Dr. Michael Brooks and his wife, Donna, have been serving Siluria Baptist Church since June 30, 2014, coming from a 15-year stint on the administration and faculty of Judson College.

He earned the B.A. degree in religion and speech from Samford University, the M.A. in speech communication from Auburn University and both the M.Div. and D.Min. degrees at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky

His hobbies include writing for publication - including a weekly devotional and evangelical column used in newspapers around the state (see Pastor's Reflections on this site and the Siluria Baptist Church Facebook page), reading—especially history and biography—and collecting political memorabilia. He's treasurer of the Republican Political Items Collectors and vice-president and newsletter editor of the Carter Political Items Collectors (and acting president). He serves as treasurer of the Alabama Citizens Action Program (ALCAP), an organization that deals with legislative and moral issues, and chaired the Christian Life Commission of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions for two terms. He served as president of the Shelby Baptist Association's pastors conference on two occasions and is a member of the SBA finance committee.

The Brookses are parents to two children, Jami and John, and grandparents to three boys, all living in the Birmingham area.

Our pastor is excited about opportunities for ministry and growth at Siluria Baptist Church and invites others to join this work!
